Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre means 5 villages in Italian. Situated at the west coast of Italy ( north west of Florence ), the 5 villages built their houses on the rocky cliffs along the coastal line of Cinque Terre. Waves after waves crashing onto the beautifully water carved rocks right beneath the shore line, with the overwhelming view of the sea and cliffs is a perfect combination for relaxation, not to mention the cooling sea breeze.
This beautiful landscape created by both men and mother nature is rated as one of the UNESCO world heritage village. Pictures of Cinque Terre can be easily identified as the different striking colours painted on each different houses ranging from yellow to blue.
One of the best thing I love about Cinque Terre is the well preserved local culture and small population. in contrast with Venice, it is literally a tourist spot. In Cinque Terre, the sight of local children playing on the street while backpackers passing by is very common.
The 5 villages are linked by train and hiking trails. Highly recommend the hiking trails if health conditions is not an issue. It takes about on average 1 and a half hour to hike from one village to another. Along the hiking trail, the beautiful scenery of the coast is never to be missed. However the trails might close due to the weather condition and it cost 7 Euro for the entry.
Monterosso, vernezza, corgnalia, manarola, riogemierro are the names of the 5 villages. Personally I love Vernezza due to its unique structure layout. Monterosso is more lively and happening. Pubs and live bands can be easily found anywhere in Monterosso.
If you are interested in experiencing the local culture, Cinque Terre is the right place for you.

Leaving the heaven, Santorini
Santorini, an island located at the south east of Greece. It is famous for their white houses dipped with blue ceiling built along the hills of the island. During the day, it creates a beautiful illusion of snow covered hills, during the night, the lights shimmer through the moon lit sky.
If there is a heaven, this place will the best description of it. We had laughter, tears and overwhelming sceneries. We will miss this place very much
If possible I will be back for the rock climbing n snorkeling. It's a shame I haven't horn my skills on it yet. It will be great climbing through the walls of Santorini.
P/s unfortunately the app created by blogger couldn't enable me to upload the photos. For the photos updates, please check my instagram @brian_chye

Roommates
Today came my new roommate in Victoria League, London. This brings me to the topic of roommate as I feel that I have the adequate experience to talk about it owing to the reason that I have moved 4 times in short 3 years.
Before proceeding, it was great to have a new roommate in Victoria League, London. Although I no longer able to enjoy the moments where I can just sing my lungs out when I feel like it. Anyway, I can get some company, share my joy and sorrow with whatever happened during the day, hone my socialising skills, act as a source of support and assistance for each other and mutual updates of whatever happened out there. Of course, all of these will be wishful thinking if mutual respect, trust and friendliness are absent.
Living with a stranger in a new environment has been a norm for me, in total, I had moved 4 times in 3 years time. Out of these experiences I had joy, learnt how to maintain trust with a stranger, leap of enlightenment, faced tenancy problems, loud musics issues, threaten to be beaten, things stolen, etc. From these years of hopping through different environments I learnt to extend calculated trust first. I belief that every person have many "faces", everyone are capable of anger, friendliness, selfiness, etc these "faces" lies within them but due to the environment, some "faces" will be stronger than the rest. You can control which "face" you want them to put on by choosing wisely which "face" you put on. The theory is fairly simple, they treat you exactly how you treat them.
Environment shapes a person in many ways. And in a small room, your roommate will be your environment. If your roommate is someone who is a top scorer, eventually you will become better in that area. If your roommate is a hard party rocker, you might not be one but you will definitely been to a club for a few times than you normally would. So the trick here is to be the first person to influence and stay firm on it, create the positive atmosphere.
Living with a roommate is not as bad as it seems. It might be something you will be grateful for the rest of your life if its a positive one or it might be the other way round. It all boils down to you. How you treat people and some amount of luck as well.
Tell me about your roommate stories. Are they friendly? Where are they from? Do you guys had any issues? Let me know!

A Missed Chinese New Year
Going away is hard. But arriving and living in a country not your own is beautiful and thrilling. A new country gives a person a new identity, a new start. You recreate yourself. You have the freedom to be anyone because people don't judge you based on your past. As we get older, opportunity like these decreases, so I treasure this opportunity very much. Missing the wonderful food and people is the price I have to pay in order to get this opportunity and I had made myself a promise, this will all be worth it!
Again, I miss the Chinese New Year back home badly. It made me reminisced the taste and smell of the delicious food, the noises in the house, the exchange of wishes to one another, spending time catching up with cousins, playing pranks with firecrackers, children running around ( maybe not so much nowadays with Ipads and Consoles). Although sometimes, I received questions that I can't really answer and pressure of being compared with other cousins, I still enjoy the moments, the moments of seeing everyone smiling.
But I shall not linger around this state of mind. There are lots of things to be done over here. I am here with a mission. Let achievements and possessions play a central role in my life, new routines shall be forged, new bonds shall be made and a new future awaits me.
Happy Chinese Year to everyone who are celebrating and may the horse year brings prosper, happiness and good health to everyone. Thank you for reading and let me know how did you celebrate your chinese new year or are you in the same situation as me? Let me know! I am more than delighted to read and reply your comments. Cheers and gong hei kangkung Choi!

Best Musical Performance I ever seen!
WoooHoooo Yeahhhh Babeeee!!!! Ladies and Bollocksmen! Lets get your working hand clapping together! Shake your head round and round... Now STOP! Mustang Sally!!!
Yeah! Tonight is a fun night. both of us ( Jesse, my roommate in Victoria League, London and I ) went to watch a musical show called THE COMMITMENTS. People at my age probably don't know, it's actually based on a movie from 1991 which is 2 years before I was born! So the Irish performing team put up a musical show for the story and perform it at Palace Theater, London. We got the tickets for £11 for a balcony ticket. Some of you might think the balcony is a shitty seat to watch a performance, well, its a musical show, you don't really need to pay much attention to the details, just sit back and enjoy the music!
